Diem Nguyen and Mark Buckner

The Engagement

In May of 2005, Diem and Mark were invited to attend the wedding of Lori and Peter Ungern in Maui.  They split a condo with their friends the Emminghams.  After a week of exploring, surfing and pineapple gorging, Diem and Mark drove up to the island's volcano and hiked several miles into Haleakalā National Park.  Near one of its craters, in a remote setting, with the sun low on the horizon, Mark got down on one knee and popped the question.  Diem said yes!  See pictures from the hike.

The Wedding and Reception

The wedding ceremony will be held on Sunday afternoon, September 3rd at the Hillsboro United Methodist church.  The reception will follow at Glen and Viola Walters Cultural Arts Center.  Details can be found here.

The Honeymoon

Diem and Mark will be spending 3 weeks in September visiting Maine and Prince Edward Island.
